Even though she is gasping, reaching out for us as she bleeds to death, the new scar tearing her throat, twisted and ugly, she is beautiful. Something Karen will never be. Never.
Karen is now one of my favorite characters that I have. She is the picture of imperfection, there is nothing about her you can call pretty. Her teeth are stained with her own spiteful words, the holes she drilled in her own body no longer a symbol of independence, but that of desperate conformity. Her eyes bloodshot from sleepless nights, wishing for someone to hold her to life, so even if she lets go, they will never. Her lies of albinism slowly rotting and peeling away to the truth of her constant craving for attention and pity. She is hideous. She is horrible. She is as close to real as any of us will ever hope to be.
